Sony Ericsson was a joint brand of the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson and the Japanese giant Sony. The company was created in 2001 with the aim of combining the experience of both companies in the field of mobile technologies. Sony Ericsson produced mobile phones and smartphones under this brand.
The company started its activities by introducing a range of stylish and technologically advanced mobile devices. For example, the Sony Ericsson T and K series models were popular at one time. Sony Ericsson has been actively developing music and camera technologies in its phones. Examples were the Walkman line and models with the Cyber-shot series, designed for music and photography lovers.

In 2011, Sony acquired Ericsson's stake in the joint venture and the company was renamed Sony Mobile Communications.
