Telescope Omegon AC 70/700 AZ-2

The Omegon 70/700 AZ-2 Telescope is a amateur refractor telescope for observing astronomical and terrestrial objects. The telescope is mounted on a stable aluminum tripod. The fork azimuth mount is equipped with a rod and a height adjustment wheel, which allows for precise pointing of the telescope. The azimuth axis is simple and only equipped with a locking screw. The tube is attached using two screws, which function as vertical movement axes. The telescope is equipped with a 5x24 optical finder with a convenient rubber eyecup. A triangular metal tray is attached between the tripod legs for holding accessories. The kit includes two standard 1.25" Kellner eyepieces, 9mm and 25mm, and a 90-degree diagonal mirror. The eyepiece and mirror housings are made of glossy plastic. The objective and eyepiece lenses are coated with magnesium fluoride. The metal tube of the telescope is equipped with a plastic light shield with a cover. The telescope uses a plastic rack-and-pinion focuser with a 110mm focus range, providing a minimum focusing distance of approximately 10 meters.

The telescope provides a direct mirror image. The resolving power of the telescope (at which its full potential is maximized) is approximately 98x, while the included 9mm eyepiece provides a close value of 78x. The high-quality coated optics allow for comfortable observation of both terrestrial objects and details in the craters and mountain ranges of the Moon, phases of Mercury, the Cassini division in Saturn's rings, its moon Titan, major features in Jupiter's belts, polar caps of Mars during opposition, and the planets Uranus and Neptune. However, the latter will appear as stars.
