Jeep is an American automobile brand known for its SUVs and crossovers. Founded during World War II, the first Jeep Willys MB became a symbol of reliability and cross-country ability on any landscape. After the war, in 1945, a civilian version of the CJ (Civilian Jeep) appeared, which was the beginning of the brand's commercial success. In 1953, Kaiser Motors acquired Willys-Overland, and in 1970 Jeep became part of American Motors Corporation (AMC). In 1987, Chrysler Corporation bought AMC, including the Jeep brand, allowing it to continue its growth. In 2021, Jeep became part of Stellantis, a corporation created by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Groupe PSA.
The lineup includes the Jeep Wrangler, known for its off-road performance; the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which combines comfort and off-road capability; the compact Cherokee and Compass; the compact and all-terrain Renegade; and the Gladiator pickup truck. Jeep is known for its all-wheel drive systems, recognizable design with a distinctive grille and round headlights, and advanced safety systems. Today, the brand is actively developing the electrification of its vehicles, offering hybrid and electric models such as the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Jeep symbolizes freedom, adventure and reliability.
