The Vortex Diamondback HD 2000 Laser Rangefinder (LRF-DB2000) is designed for professional hunters or long distance shooters. Measuring Modes

• HCD (Horizontal Component Distance) - The Diamondback HD 2000 utilizes HCD range measurement technology with angle compensation to give archery and rifle shooters the critical distance data needed for accurate shots. To measure distance on an object horizontally (projection of actual distance onto a horizontal surface). 
• LOS (Line of Sight) - to measure the real distance to an object in space and to measure slope. 
• SCAN - mode of constant scanning of the distance to objects, when moving the rangefinder in space (convenient for determining the distance to small objects, different parts of extended objects located at an angle). 
• Normal Mode is the standard mode that provides range to targets. Normal Mode is the recommended mode for most situations. 
• First Mode - This mode is designed to provide more accurate distance and angle measurements to a smaller object in front of relatively larger objects with better reflectivity (deer in front of trees). It can be used in conjunction with HCD or LOS mode. 
• Last Mode - this mode is intended for more accurate distance and angle measurement to an object located among a group of other objects (deer among bushes and trees). It can be used in conjunction with HCD or LOS mode. 
• ELR (Extended Laser Range) - The extended response time of the rangefinder allows you to measure distances and angles to objects at long distances. The use of a tripod is recommended. Can be used in conjunction with HCD or LOS mode.
