Dr. Martens

Dr. Martens is an iconic British footwear brand. Founded in 1947, it quickly became famous for its versatility.  The first model, the 1460, was released on April 1, 1960 and was named after this date. These shoes immediately became iconic due to their distinctive features: air cushioning in the sole, yellow stitching, a loop at the butt, and a concise design.

Dr. Martens were originally designed for workers: farmers, construction workers and letter carriers. The simple but sturdy construction, resistance to wear and tear and comfort made the shoes ideal for labor professions. In the 1970s, however, the brand became a symbol for subcultures. Punk rockers, skinheads and goths adopted Dr. Martens as part of their look, expressing protest and individuality through style. These groups saw Dr. Martens shoes as the epitome of rebellion and defiance.

The assortment of the brand has significantly expanded: in addition to classic models of boots, now sandals, shoes, and even clothing and accessories are produced.
