The Corvers-Kauter winery was founded almost three decades ago, in 1996, when Dr. Matthias Corvers and his wife Brigitte Corvers-Kauter merged their two independent wineries in Rüdesheim and Oestrich-Winkel into a single entity. This merger was a turning point, as attention to Rheingau wines has grown significantly since then. Their wines are of remarkable quality and have won the hearts of wine connoisseurs at home and abroad.
The portfolio of Dr. Matthias Corvers and Brigitte Corvers-Kauther is dominated by the Riesling variety, followed by the noble Spatburgunder. The vineyards located near the 50th parallel enjoy sunlight, creating ideal conditions for winemaking. Steep slopes with soils formed by the decomposition of shale give the wines from the Rüdesheimer and Assmannshäuser lodges their subtle fruitiness, play and elegance. Deep soils of limestone loess and quartz define the character of the wines from Winkel, Mittelheim and Oestrich. This is also where the main focus of the winery lies.
In 2020, son Philip Corvers joined the company, giving further impetus to growth. Father and son have in a short time raised their winery to the top of the Rheingau wine industry and have rightly been recognized as "Rising Star 2022".
