The Shanz collar is designed to fix the cervical spine, stabilize and reduce load, as well as normalize the tone of the neck muscles.

Medical indications:

• injuries to the cervical spine (intervertebral joints, intervertebral discs, muscles, ligaments, and vertebrae);
• dorsopathy (radiculopathy and myalgia), atony of the neck muscles;
• cervical osteochondrosis, cervical osteoarthritis, whiplash injuries to the neck in car accidents;
• recommended as an immobilizing agent for providing first aid;
• to shorten rehabilitation after discectomy, cervical spine and lower jaw surgeries, with tracheostomy;
• to protect the neck muscles from strain, to stabilize the cervical spine.

Contraindications:

No absolute contraindications have been identified.

Relative contraindications requiring consultation with a doctor:

• open wounds in the area of ​​use of the brace;
• dermatological skin diseases in the area of ​​application of the brace.

Procedure for applying the brace:

• unfasten the brace's fasteners;
• place the collar on the neck, with the Velcro on the back;
• proper positioning of the brace - between the clavicle and the lower jaw;
• fasten the collar fasteners.

Do not tighten the brace too tightly to avoid hematoma formation and compression of adjacent vessels and nerves.

The duration of wearing the brace is determined by the treating doctor.
